Assignment 3.4 Training Generative AI LLMs

Generative AI models like GPT-4, Claude, LLaMA, and Gemini are created through a structured process that transforms massive datasets into intelligent systems. This process includes collecting large amounts of text and code data, cleaning and tokenizing it, training models using powerful GPUs and TPUs, refining them with human feedback (RLHF), and finally deploying them for real-world use. Training these models requires significant resources, including billions of data tokens, high computational power, large energy consumption, and substantial time and cost, often reaching millions of dollars. Overall, the performance and capabilities of these AI systems depend heavily on the quality of data, the scale of resources, and the design of the training process.
